Bianca Andreea Mierlea is a Romanian artist, born in 1999 and based in London. She graduated with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art from Chelsea College of Arts in 2020 and completed an MA in Fine Art at Chelsea College of Arts at the beginning of 2022.

Through her work, Bianca explores a range of esoteric concepts, including out-of-body experiences, spirituality, femininity, and the power of the self. Her practice engages with dualities such as real versus unreal, solid versus non-solid, and human versus hybrid beings. She combines intuition with imagery drawn from dreams, mythological creatures, and the cosmos, allowing these realms to intersect and inform her visual language.

Her artistic practice is rooted in intuition and an acute awareness of the present moment, which she considers the most powerful source of creation. Working instinctively, she allows energy, emotion, subconscious imagery, and inner states to guide the emergence of organic forms and imagined shapes that often evolve into hybrid beings or otherworldly entities. These forms develop their own visual language, communicating through movement, flow, and layering rather than fixed narratives.

Colour plays a vital role in her process and is dictated entirely by her present state of being. Each palette arises intuitively, reflecting her connection to the work at that specific moment. Through this approach, she embraces change as an essential force, allowing her work to remain fluid and responsive. For her, energy speaks louder than words and is translated directly onto canvas or textile surfaces through gesture, rhythm, and movement.

Her works function as portals into new realities, where the boundaries between the physical, the dreamlike, and the cosmic dissolve. By layering materials, textures, and forms, she captures a continuous flow of transformation, revealing the power of the self as both an energy source and a site of constant becoming. Each piece becomes an exploration of presence, movement, and the creation of alternative realities shaped by intuition, dreams, and inner experience.
